Neat Stuff for the Weekend
I love this Easter idea. It would be a perfect addition to the traditional egg hunt. Kids should plant magic jelly beans the night before Easter, then Easter morning the magic jelly beans have sprouted into lollipops! See more details at Balancing Beauty and Bedlam!

Neat Stuff for the Weekend
I found this GREAT idea at this blog called The Craft Knife. Paint in glue bottles, then after the paint dries, use markers to add more to the art work! Have fun!

Neat Stuff for the Weekend
I'm posting this one a little early, because it's not exactly for the weekend. Although you could do this any day in the year, Valentine's Day does seem the most appropriate. Hang streamers from your child's door after they have gone to sleep the night before Valentine's Day. Write sweet love messages on the hearts. I'm sure any kid would love to wake up to this! Check out more from this mom at My Little Life: Five Crooked Halos. Happy Valentine's Day!

A little plug...
So James attends Athletes Prime, which is my husband's business! I just had to take a pic and share this workout opportunity for kids and adults! Check it out!
Valentine's Service Project
This year, our school has made it a priority to give back to our community. This Valentine's Day, the first graders will be providing Valentine cards for nursing home residents here in College Station. The kids were so gracious and thoughtful when we discussed what these Valentines will mean for some of these people. Thanks to Project Serve, who gave us the idea and will be delivering the cards on Valentine's Day! We look forward to the photos of the residents with our cards!
A Writer's Celebration
We just finished our unit on "Authors as Mentors" where we looked at real authors and tried to do things like they do. This is a group of writers! They get so excited to write and share their stories, so we celebrated by sharing with Mrs. Edelmon's class across the hall! They had so much fun!
Happy 100th Day of School!
We sure did have a blast! See the pictures of some of our activities below: 100th day hats, what if you were 100 years old, 100 autographs, 100th day snack!
Moon + Oreos = FUN!
We watched a video and discussed how the moon changes and actually got into some deep and meaningful thoughts. We know that the moon doesn't actually change shapes, it is all about how the sun reflects onto the moon. We modeled 4 of the moon's phases with Oreos... And ate some for fun of course!
If I Were In A Snow Globe...
I can't take credit for this idea either... Thanks Pinterest! This art project was so much fun! The kids imagined what they would do in a snow globe, then we created it! These turned out really good!
2-D Shape Practice
I got this idea from Pinterest (of course)... It's actually an activity for 2nd or 3rd grade, but I knew these kiddos could handle it... And they did!
It took cooperation and knowledge of shapes. I gave a few clues, then the kids worked together to make that shape with string by pulling or moving their fingers.
They really had a great time with this challenge!
