Christmas All Over Again

It feels pretty weird posting about Christmas on Valentine's Day... Anyways, here is our WEEK OF FUN! This was the week before we let out for Christmas break and had the theme days that we even got to dress up for! See all the pictures below for some of the rockin' fun Christmas activities!

Reindeer Day

 Peyton and Dottie are working on a writing activity-What would happen if I grew antlers? There were some pretty great problems and solutions in these stories!

Socks from Mrs. Guest! I love to give socks because my grandmother has given me a special pair of Christmas socks every year. It is a special memory and a fun tradition I loved sharing with the class.

Gobble, Gobble

To celebrate Thanksgiving we had a special activity. We made a turkey cookie glyph. A glyph is a picture or object that is created by following directions. The directions are questions and the answers help you get to know the person that made the picture or object. For example, in our Turkey cookie, boys used orange icing and girls used yellow icing. In the end, everyone had a special cookie perfect for them!

Special Person's Day

Shortly after Special Person's Day, my camera went on a great vacation! It went with my sister and her husband on their honeymoon to Jamaica! When they returned it, they forgot to return the charger for the battery. So the camera has been dead for a long time... until I received it yesterday! So here are some old pictures that will bring back some GREAT memories in the classroom!

Reading Celebration

We have learned all of our reading strategies! We have worked so hard and become great readers. We celebrated how far we have come last week with the kindergarteners. We read our just right books to them to show how hard we've worked and how far we've come! Thanks to Ms. Gabos's class for coming down!

We are Bucket Fillers!!

Mrs. Reed (our counselor) came in a did a lesson that really stuck. We learned how everyone has a "bucket" that needs to be filled each day. We can fill others' buckets by being kind, polite and friendly. When we do that, it fill our own bucket too! If we are negative, we dip into other buckets. When we do that we dip into our own buckets, and everyone is down.

This class really loved the lesson! We commited to be BUCKET FILLERS!

Activity of the Week-Blend Lilypads

We had so much fun hopping around in our socks! We used lilypads to make words that begin with blends. The kids had to jump from lilypad to lilypad, saying each sound and spell a word at the end. It was fun to cheer on our friends!
